YITZHAK AND RACHELLE ROGOVIN
The parents of the Rogovin family:
Yitzhak was a "melamed b'heder" (Hebrew teacher for children). He saw it as holy work, and was easy with the children and they loved him for that.
Rachelle had a small shop next to the house, and sold mostly to the gentile population of Vishnive and from the other villages in the area. They both were murdered on September 22, 1942.

In 1996, when my parents and I visited Vishnive, we met Mrs. Maria Yorkelevitch. She is a gentile, but remembered the Jewish population. She especially remembered Rachelle well, and said that Rachelle helped her a lot after her mother died. She showed us the house of the Rogovin family, which is one of the only monuments left standing after the partisans destroyed the town in 1942. This house survived all the other destructions that happened to the town since World War I.
